Introduction

HMV (abbreviation for His Master's Voice) is a leading specialist retailer of music, film, games and technology products. The chain was founded in 1921 with the arrival of its landmark store in Oxford Street, who later became UK's largest music retailer.

Case Study: ATL and BTL Advertising

HMV's transformation from a vinyl music
retailer into a music giant/ entertainment brand that also offers gaming, live events and a cinema experience for it's customers across its entertainment portfolio.

At the height of HMV’s success with 325 stores nationwide, it cemented their position as the goto store for entertainment under the one roof.

The Challenge:
Hands On Studio Manager

I was responsible for design and artworking for press and display advertising, POS, event leaflets, outdoor billboards and more. Maintaining a high quality control by implementing processes and procedures for production. This involved colour correction, retouching and print management. 

Overseeing a studio production of 15 artworkers to produce final assets for print and digital.

Managing multiple projects at a time, establishing an effective work flow to keep track of upcoming jobs, works in progress, and completed tasks.

This also includes liaising with printers and publishers on a regular basis to ensure deadlines are met.
